Anthropoda
Important Information
- Nervous system consists of dorsal brain.
- Has a nerve chord that connects one end to the other.
- Has small sense organ on outer epidermis.
- The sense organs (sensilla) on the surface have hairs to help sense.
Centipede (Chilopoda)
The centipede has a central nervous system which contains a dorsal brain connected by double ventral nerve chords which later reaches the other brains (ganglia).
Scorpion (Scorpiones)
The scorpion has a nervous system that contains a brain. They also have a nerve chord which connects the multiple sensory organs and the brain. The neurons and nerves also help connect the brain to the nerve chord.
Cockroach (Blattaria)
The cockroach has a nervous system which contains a nerve ring, a double ventral nerve cord and a segmental ganglia. The nerve ring is used to sense the surface that it is on. The double ventral nerve cord is used to connect the nerves and the brain. Though it is in segments each segment has a sensory nerve which is connected by the nerve cord.
